More hour-long meetings at work = more abusing GIMP's symmetry mode.

Development versions of GIMP have had symmetry painting mode for a little while now. I finally got around to compiling one of these development versions on my Cintiq. I don't know how generally practical it is as a feature to producing art, but it sure does make it easy to knock out some interesting designs.

The characters in my shmup side project are mostly symmetrical, I might find some use for it in that too.

This is a doodle from today's weekly status meeting at Neoglyphic Entertainment. Sketch and lineart were done in the one meeting with an unstable development version of GIMP.

I'll be the first to admit that I have some serious issues creating fresh new content with my doodles. I draw a lot of the same pose over and over again, with a lot of the same character elements over and over again. Usually the context that this stuff comes out of is just boredom more than actual pursuit of artistic improvement, but I'll try to challenge myself a bit more in the future.

Having said that, last night when I was drunk off my ass and showing a friend how well the Linux driver works with the Cintiq Companion 2 was not going to be that time. So here's another generic character in a generic pose.

No promises. Might just keep doing the same shit because whatever.
